A main magistrate’s tribunal successful Awka, Anambra State, has ordered the remand of a 33-year-old barber, Ihechukwu Korie, for the alleged rape of a minor.
Chief Magistrate U.E. Onochie, who presides implicit the Children, Sexual and Gender-Based Violence Offences Court successful Awka, gave the bid pursuing a petition by the prosecutor, Chinyere Okechukwu, a constabulary inspector.
The defendant, who is facing 1 number of rape, was ordered to beryllium remanded astatine the Awka correctional facility.
The magistrate adjourned the lawsuit until 24 September for study of compliance.
Earlier, Mr Okechukwu, said the suspect committed the offence connected 19 August astatine Chicago Estate, Oba successful Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State.

“While she was seated, waiting for her turn, the suspect finished attending to the lawsuit earlier her.

The defendant, however, pleaded not blameworthy to the charge, claiming helium was unaware of the girl’s age.
